Committee recommends that crofting reform proposals proceed
The Committee has agreed a work programme to the end of 2010. Please note that this may be subject to minor changes. For details of future meetings please contact the Clerk. The Committee expects to be designated as lead committee to scrutinse the Wildlife and Natural Enviroment (Scotland) Bill and has issued a call for views on the general principles of the Bill. The Committee was designated as lead committee to scrutinise the Crofting Reform (Scotland) Bill and published its Stage 1 report on 6 May 2010. The Scottish Government's response to the Stage 1 report was received on 12 May 2010. The Committee has recently held two evidence-taking sessions on the issues arising from the Royal Society of Edinburgh's report into Scotland's Hills and Islands.
