Forth Crossing Bill

A Bill to give Scottish Ministers power to construct a new bridge over the Firth of Forth and to construct and improve associated roads and structures; to authorise the acquisition, or temporary possession and use, of land for construction and improvement works; and for connected purposes.

Assessor

Standing Orders, Rule 9C.10.3, allows for the appointment of an assessor to assist in the consideration of objections at Stage 2.

Professor Hugh Begg has been appointed as the assessor at Stage 2 of the Bill. He will consider the written and oral evidence on the specified provisions (or detail) of the Bill and report to the Committee with recommendations.  The assessor will hear evidence on the detail of the Bill provided by objectors and the promoter.

Objectors have been placed into groups and each group has been invited to provide witness statements by 19 July 2010.
