The role of the Committee is to consider the Scottish Government’s spending plans, both through the annual budget process and examining the cost implications of bills. The Committee can also launch inquiries on any other matter within its remit.

Current Business

Public Services Reform (Scotland) Bill - Please follow the link below for full information on the Committee's scrutiny of the Bill.  The Committee is currently considering the Bill at Stage 2.

The Scottish Budget - The Committee has recently launched the 2010 Budget Strategy Phase and has issued a call for written evidence.  Please follow the link below for information on the budget process in general and the Budget Strategy Phase.

Scrutiny of Financial Memoranda - The Committee considers the financial implications of all legislation, through the scrutiny of Financial Memoranda. Please follow the link below for an outline of the Committee's three-level framework of scrutiny and details of all bills currently under consideration.
