Abolition of Bridge Tolls (Scotland) Bill
The Bill was introduced in the Parliament on 3 September 2007. The Committee agreed to adopt level 3 scrutiny in relation to the Bill.
At its meeting on 25 September 2007, the Committee took oral evidence from the Forth Estuary Transport Authority (FETA), the Tay Road Bridge Joint Board (TRBJB) and Scottish Government officials. Graduate Endowment Abolition (Scotland) Bill
The Bill was introduced in the Parliament on 23 October 2007. The Committee agreed to adopt level 2 scrutiny in relation to the Bill.
At its meeting on 6 November 2007, the Committee took oral evidence from Scottish Government officials. The Committee also received supplementary correspondence from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) after the meeting. Glasgow Commonwealth Games Bill
The Bill was introduced in the Parliament on 9 November 2007. The Committee agreed to adopt level 3 scrutiny in relation to the Bill.
The Committee agreed to seek written evidence from sportscotland, COSLA and the Big Lottery Fund Scotland Committee. The Committee took oral evidence from Glasgow City Council, the Games Organising Committee and Scottish Government officials at its meeting on 11 December 2007. Public Health etc. (Scotland) Bill
The Bill was introduced in the Parliament on 25 October 2007. At its meeting on 6 November 2007, the Committee agreed to adopt level 1 scrutiny in relation to the Bill. Please follow the links below to the papers for the meeting.
Written evidence was received, following an initial approach to affected organisations, from NHS Lothian, NHS Ayrshire and Arran and COSLA. In light of the evidence received, the Committee re-considered its approach to the FM at its meeting on 4 December 2007. At that meeting, the Committee agreed to seek additional comments from health boards and from the Scottish Directors of Public Health Group.

At its meeting on 15 January, the Committee considered the additional evidence received and decided to do no further work on the Financial Memorandum. Creative Scotland Bill
The Bill was introduced in the Parliament on 12 March 2008. At its meeting on 18 March 2008, the Committee agreed to adopt level 2 scrutiny in relation to the Bill.
The Committee received written evidence from Anne Bonnar (Transitional Director for Creative Scotland) on behalf of the Transition Project, the Scottish Arts Council and Scottish Screen, and from Union Representatives at both organisations. The Committee also held an oral evidence session with Scottish Government officials on 22 April 2008. During the First Minister's Statement on the Scottish Government's Programme (click link) on 3 September 2008, it was confirmed that proposals for the legal status of Creative Scotland will be included in the forthcoming Public Services Reform Bill. |
Judiciary and Courts (Scotland) Bill
The Bill was introduced in the Parliament on 30 January 2008. At its meeting on 5 February 2008, the Committee agreed to adopt level 1 scrutiny in relation to the Bill. The Committee agreed to seek written evidence from the Lord President's Private Office, the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland and the Scottish Court Service.
The Committee considered submissions from these three organisations at its meeting on 11 March 2008. The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government to clarify various issues raised in the submissions. Scottish Register of Tartans Bill
The Bill was introduced in the Parliament on 25 March 2008. At its meeting on 15 April 2008, the Committee agreed to adopt level 1 scrutiny in relation to the Bill. In doing so, the Committee sought written evidence from affected organisations.

The Disabled Persons' Parking Places (Scotland) Bill
The Bill was introduced in the Parliament on 2 June 2008. At its meeting on 10 June 2008, the Committee agreed to adopt level 2 scrutiny in relation to the Bill.
The Committee received submissions from Glasgow City Council, Fife Council, the Scottish Government and ACPOS and took evidence from Jackie Baillie MSP at its meeting on 16 September 2008. Damages (Asbestos-Related Conditions) (Scotland) Bill
The Bill was introduced in the Parliament on 23 June 2008. At its meeting on 24 June, the Committee agreed to adopt level 1 scrutiny in relation to the Bill. The Committee received four submissions, from the Scottish Court Service, the Association of British Insurers, Zurich Financial Services and AXA Insurance UK plc.

Health Boards (Membership and Elections) (Scotland) Bill
The Bill was introduced in the Parliament on 25 June 2008. At its meeting on 16 September, the Committee agreed to adopt level 2 scrutiny in relation to the Bill, but at its meeting on 28 October, the Committee agreed to re-classify the FM as level 3, in light of the written evidence received.

The Bill was introduced in the Parliament on 22 September 2008. At its meeting on 30 September, the Committee agreed to adopt level 2 scrutiny in relation to the Bill. The Bill was introduced in the Parliament on 19 May 2008. At its meeting on 30 September, the Committee agreed to adopt level 1 scrutiny in relation to the Bill. Home Owner and Debtor Protection (Scotland) Bill
The Bill was introduced in the Parliament on 1 October 2009. At its meeting on the 6 October 2009, the Committee agreed to adopt level 2 scrutiny in relation to the Bill.
