Apologies were received from Margaret Smith.
The meeting opened at 2.40 pm.
1. Decision on taking business in private: The Committee agreed to take items 3, 4 and 5 in private.
2. Subordinate legislation: The Committee considered the following negative instruments—
the National Lottery etc. Act 1993 (Amendment of Section 23) (Creative Scotland) Order 2010 (SSI2010/223) and
the Scottish Social Services Council (Appointments, Procedure and Access to the Register) Amendment Regulations 2010 (SSI2010/224).
and agreed to make no recommendations in relation to the instruments.
3. Historic Environment (Amendment) (Scotland) Bill: The Committee considered and agreed its approach to the scrutiny of the Bill at Stage 1.
4. Autism (Scotland) Bill: The Committee considered and agreed its approach to the scrutiny of the Bill at Stage 1.
5. Scottish local newspaper industry: The Committee considered a draft report. Subject to a number of minor changes, the report was agreed to.
The meeting closed at 3.07 pm.
