International trade inquiry
The Committee has considered outline conclusions and recommendations for its report into the public sector's support for exporters, international trade and the attraction of inward investment. A final report is expected to be published in early September.
New inquiry to review the purpose of an enterprise agency and the success of the recent reforms
The Committee has agreed a remit and terms of reference for its new inquiry. The call for written evidence ia available at the link below. The Committee expects to start taking oral evidence shortly after its return at the end of the summer recess.
Protection of Workers (Scotland) Bill
The Committee has been designated as the lead Committee for this Bill. An open call for written evidence has been published. The Committee expects to start taking oral evidence shortly after its return at the end of the summer recess.
Scrutiny of the draft 2011-12 Scottish Government budget
Most parliamentary committees in the Scottish Parliament will be conducting budget scrutiny in the Autumn. As such, the Economy, Energy and Tourism Committee expects to look at the overall strategy and the policy choices that have been made by the Scottish Government and non-departmental public bodies (NDPBs). A call for written evidence will be issued shortly after the summer recess.
Banking inquiry
The Committee has now concluded its inquiry "The way forward for Scotland's banking, building society and financial services sector" and continues to monitor developments. The Committee has agreed to a limited number of follow-up evidence sessions in the Autumn. Please follow the links below for further information.
