7 September 2010 : The Committee agreed to close the petition under Rule 15.7 of Standing Orders on the grounds that the Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body and the City of Edinburgh Council have given detailed reasons as to why it is not advisable to place such a statue in the vicinity of the Scottish Parliament. Further that the City of Edinburgh Council has offered to provide advice and assistance to the petitioner.
